I'm Melinda Silverio with degrees in science and medicine and experience teaching biology and medical terminology. I taught to 900 Nursing and 400 Allied Health Programs students from ECPI University and College: Centro de Estudios Multidisciplinarios. Here, I blend mental health and self-care to inspire you. I did an internship in 2005 Capestrano Hospital for mental health. I worked as volunteer from 2001 to 2004 in The San Jorge Hospital a Children's hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I went to a mission trip in 2019 to Kenya, Africa for Humanitarian help for medical logistic and education team.

How Mental Health touch my life

In 2020, my mom was diagnosed with Dementia, as part of her symptoms she had depression, she was aggressive and always with intense fear. It broke my family and me. She passed away in 2023. She always will be in my heart.

Taking care of your mental health is essential for overall well-being, and incorporating effective self-care strategies can make a significant difference. Start by establishing a daily routine that includes regular physical activity; exercise is proven to boost mood and decrease anxiety. I do 30 -40 minutes of exercises between walking and aerobics it makes feel like 20 years younger and give energy to all my daily tasks and specially use it when I have stress it help me to manage my obligations and make me more productive. Mindfulness practices, such as meditation and deep-breathing exercises, can help you stay grounded and focused. It's also crucial to maintain a balanced diet rich in nutrients to fuel your brain. Build a support network by connecting with friends, family, or professional counselors, as social interaction plays a vital role in mental health. Lastly, ensure you get enough sleep each night, as rest is pivotal for emotional regulation and resilience. By prioritizing these self-care tips, you can enhance your mental health and create a foundation for a happier, more fulfilling life.
